About Cause
As an immediate measure to contain the spread of COVID-19, most educational institutions in India have resorted to online education, shutting down offline classes for over a year now. But what does this mean for students from the economically backward sections of the society, who do not have high-speed internet and essential equipment like laptops, tablets or smartphones? What about children whose parents cannot guide them in their studies, which can lead to a lack of motivation?
It is heartbreaking that the devastation caused by COVID-19 is physical and psychological, where being deprived of online education can affect students’ self-esteem and their academic selves. These children do not have access to digital equipment that restricts their ability to attend online classes. Furthermore, due to the lack of reliable guidance, students’ understanding of the academics that is important in primary and high school education is limited.
What We Do
- We aim to change this premise through a ‘mentoring program’ involving students through SBVK Trust’s 1-to-1 program, which is virtually conducted by corporate employee volunteers.
- We intend to help the students of schools to improve their English communication and their overall academic performance.
- SBVK Trust is doing everything in its power to reduce the rising rate of dropouts in these schools, and for that we need your support.
- We recognize the social gap in access to technology and seek to bridge this gap through our digital device donation campaign.
Through our e-learning campaign in 8 high schools in Prayagraj, we have
identified 150 students who do not have the means to buy educational aids, and
such students in 8th, 9th and 10th standard. There are students who are victims
of demotivation. Absence of a good teacher. Sometimes, these students fail in
some subjects while poor parents don’t have time or knowledge to guide them or
give them admission in tuition classes. These promising and promising students
come from poor economic backgrounds, and buying a digital device or sending
them tuition is often seen as a luxury. This leads to the very harsh reality of
increased dropouts.

their English communication and their overall academic performance. SBVK Trust
is doing everything in its power to reduce the rising rate of dropouts in these
government schools, and for that we need your support.

mentorship programme, SBVK Trust wants to provide smart devices to the needy,
which will be under the supervision of the school administration.
